In your opinion, which looks better with all pink bedding: a cherry wood crib or a "natural" wood crib?
We received a crib from a friend and purchased all of our bedding for our daughter due in January. I looked it up and that crib was recalled so we have to buy a new crib. The nursery is a pale pink color and our bedding is all pink with a Winnie the Pooh print(very cute!). We can't decide between the natural crib and the cherry crib. Which one do you think would look better with the pink bedding? Thanks!

cranberry paint sponging with cherry wood?
ok so I saw a friends house several years ago that had a cranberry color and I loved it. my husband and I have talked about colors for the accent wall in our kitchen and he wants cranberry. the problem is we have cherry furniture nd cabinets. They are one of the finer points of our house and I worry the cranberry will wash out the beautiful cabinets. I keep reading yellows blues and greens are the best colors for it. He wants cranberry and won't hear of anything else. any ideas where I could sponge a color onto the cranberry to play it down? the color he likes is wild manzanita by behr. could I sponge it with something like fossil butte by behr to tone it down?

Red couch, black coffee table, buttery golden walls... now what color rug?
So in my new apartment, I am going to have this couch in red: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S99877812/ And black coffee tables, and the walls are gonna be a buttery gold (like a light goldenrod) The floors are a cherry wood. What color rug should I get for the place? I was thinking either beige or brown, but if there are other suggestions PLEASE hurl em my way THANKS

Teenage bedroom ideas? Help with execution?
I'm 15, and my room is very mismatched and blah. It has cream walls and a cream carpet. I'm allowed to get the walls painted and I want a mid-to-dark purple, which is and has always been my favourite colour, so I won't outgrow it. One problem is that my curtains are red and my bed and dressing table are a sort of polished cherry-wood colour/texture. I'm not sure that this will go together, and I can't afford new curtains (my furniture is all hand-me-downs as well). I'm not all for matchymatchy everything but I don't want everything to look completely out of place with each other. I've got a blue desk, but I've got a shawl as a table cloth over it and it looks pretty good but I also have a white bookshelf/set of drawers and a white corner table with my TV on it. I would be allowed to spray paint them but I'm not sure what colour. I want my room to be intimate and spiritual, with candles or maybe fairy lights so it will have a magical sort of light? Also, my room isn't very big, as my bed takes up most of the space, so if possible, I don't want it to look too small. If I could get any ideas or help on anything whatsoever, please, PLEASE comment.
