I can't tell if these are termites?
Lately, I've been finding little "winged ants" that scurry around my room's floor [wood] and computer desk [wood]. They are ONLY in my room, and I have yet to find any holes in the walls or 'sawdust' piles that may be the termite's doing. My dad said if they ARE termites, there's nothing we can do about them, because we seriously DO. NOT. have the money for an exterminator to come and clear them out. I have no idea what I can do about it. I kill so many but they just pop back up! They don't fly, and again, they look like winged ants. So...are these termites? I'm freaked out of sleeping in my own room because it "may be" infested with termites! Help?!?

Should I or shouldn't I take this rustic cabin in my parents backyard?
My parents offered me a rustic cabin in their backyard to have sleepovers in. The cabin has wood floors, wood walls and a wooden door. The walls and roof are insulated. One disadvantage is the cabin has no windows. My parents wouldn't allow me to put windows in. The cabin has electricity and a flameless fireless heater. From the cabin I can also pick up the house wifi signals from the main house even with the door closed. My parents would allow me to decorate and paint the walls and inside of the door as well. My mom would have a rule that if I'm sleeping in there at night for my safety that the door must be closed and locked. The door has a lock on the inside that could only be unlocked or locked with a key. I would keep several keys inside the cabin. Being inside with no windows and the door closed could bother me. If I painted the walls and door colors that create enthusiam it may make me feel better. I guess I could get used to having the door closed while inside. This is wiered. In the begining I may be afraid to close and lock the door alone. I feel if I look at the walls and don't look at the door I can have my mother or step sister come by and queitly close and lock the door when I'm not looking. This way I may feel more comfortable with the door closed in the begining. My mom and step sister are very willing to do this. I would call my step sisters cell phone and she would tell me to look at the walls. She would call me after and say I closed the cabin door are you okay. After a few weeks or a month I could get used to having the door closed and close it myself. What colors should I paint the walls and inside of the door? The only advantage of this cabin is I could have privacy late at night while online and talk on my phone without waking up my family. Is it worth it? The cabin has no restroom inside. I could use the restroom in the main house. I would still keep my room in the main house. This would just be for some weekends. Currently with the summer heat of 105 during the day and 80 degrees at night this is not realistic. In late September to mid october the weather is 70 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night. In January its 65 during the day and 45-50 degrees at night. It doesn't snow or rain where I live in the winter. This idea is more for fall, winter or spring. I could use several blankets to keep warm. With this summer heat I would sweet in there. I would have to sand the walls and inside of the door in order to paint them. What colors would be good for the walls? What color would you paint the door on the inside?

Help -- I have to hand-mop the nastiest floor ever! Tips?
I was in the hospital for the past fourteen days and I just got back home. I live alone and while my friend left my cats food and water, she didn't clean anything up. It rained inside, I have too many cats, they knocked stuff over and broke stuff and spilled stuff, and the reason I was in the hospital was because I dropped some soup on the kitchen floor, then slipped on it and hurt my artificial knee. So there's nasty cat-fluff stuck to the soup on the floor in the kitchen. It's so thick you can barely see the wood under it. So, here's my mess: There's half of a dead mouse on my kitchen floor. There's, like, dried cat fluff stuck ALL OVER the kitchen floor. The cats pooped on the bathroom floor. I picked up the poop but it's ingrained in that stupid textured tile that always looks dirty no matter how clean it is, but I don't want to walk on poop residue. There was poop on the livingroom floor (wood flooring) covered in little white worms! I picked it up and threw it in the trash but I'm afraid there's more and I don't want to go look. The mop replacement head I got is the wrong kind and I will have to clean the floors on my hands and knees. So, I have gloves, a mop head (with no mop), a broom, a dustbin, a bowl, a trash can, paper towels, and a bristly sponge. I can't afford to hire a cleaner and there's nobody who can help me. What do I do? The ENTIRE floor is filthy, I don't want to get down on even one patch of it. Any tips? :( Please don't post saying how gross this is, this all happened while I was in the hospital. I can't stand it being so filthy. :(

What do you think of what I've written so far?
Prologue I looked out the window. It was dark outside. Nighttime. I don?t remember anything of what happened before I fell asleep. Actually?I don?t even remember falling asleep. I don?t recognize this room either. It?s dark and the furniture, a sofa and an empty bookshelf, smell like they?ve been here for years. The floor wood is rotting and there is a bottle of wine in a corner. I stood up from the sofa, pushing a blue blanket off of me. The sofa smelled way too bad. I looked around for a door. There wasn?t one, but I realized that there was something else out of place. My senses are heightened. I can see perfectly in the dark and there I can catch the scent of snow even though the window is sealed shut. I felt and sensed everything around me. I felt strong, yet weak. I felt as if I could lift up that sofa, but I also felt like I would faint at any moment. I was running out of oxygen and somehow, that bottle of wine seemed to be calling to me. Something moved. I turned around and jumped back against the wall. A trap door opened and I saw Ricky come up. His expression was distant as he watched me. ?Echo,? he said in his British accent. Usually it would make me melt, but right now I was appalled. ?What did you do to me?? I demanded. He opened his mouth to say something and looked away. ?I'm sorry,? he said softly. ?You had to survive. Turning you was the only way to make sure of that.? My heart dropped. This isn?t happening. Chapter 1 I walked down the steps of our castle. I still question why my father chose to buy this place. The castle has always reminded me a lot of Dracula?s castle. It?s gothic inside and out. Medieval. And when you live in New York, medieval is the least thing that you?d expect to see. The outside is layers of huge black blocks and the inside is dark and gothic. It was just good that our family didn?t follow the style. Our family is quite big, but the castle is still millions of times bigger. There are twelve children total. My brothers are Michael, Markus, Nick, Shane, Xavier, and Bruce. My sisters are Whitney, Dakota, Carmen, Hope, and Rebecca. And my father cares for all of us by himself. Our mother died when Hope was born because she bled to death. I was fourteen when this happened. I remember that my mom had long red hair, a sweet smile, and pretty blue eyes. She had been so loving and caring. The perfect mom. The whole family had different styles, but I was the one who stood out among them. At school they fit in and I didn?t. This was because I was classified as the ?Goth? of the family. People always looked at me like I was a freak for dressing differently. Though, they don?t realize that styles mean much more than fashion. It?s a description of one?s activities. Preps cheerlead, for instance. Goths are isolated, to put it simple. My footsteps echoed throughout the empty halls. I was wearing black boots, black skinny jeans, and a black tank top. I was wearing thick black eyeliner that stretched at the corner like the Egyptian make up, which was called ?cat eye,? and I was wearing thick fake eyelashes. My hair was straightened and half of my bang covered half of my face while the other part of the bang was cut short to brush my right eye. My hair was dyed black and the roots were bright red. I walked through the hallway where the armor of two knights stood with swords. The walls were gray and the floor was black carpet. I was headed for a wooden door that led into the kitchen, where I was sure an empty room waited. The kitchen was big, like every other room in the house. It was the only thing that wasn?t gothic in this place. It was white and orange. There were two refrigerators because to feed such a large family, you need a large amount of food. Half of the room was taken up by a table where we ate breakfast. I walked in and I saw that my brothers and sisters were there. The only one missing was Markus, my twenty year old brother, who had moved away to South Dakota to attend college. Carmen, my eldest sister had light mahogany colored hair and sage green eyes just like everyone else in the room, and was wearing a blue strapless shirt and black skinny jeans. Dakota was wearing shorts and a white spaghetti strap. Shane and Michael, the twins, were dressed identically, for the first time in ten years. They were dressed in jeans and Lil Wayne shirts from last night?s concert. Nick was wearing skinny jeans and a graphic t-shirt. Nick was a year older than my twelve year old sister, Rebecca. Rebecca was dressed in a nice blouse and a jeans skirt. Whitney was wearing Capri?s and a flower shirt. Xavier was wearing a simple shirt and basketball shorts. Bruce was dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt. And Hope was in her high chair, dressed in a pretty purple dress. I stared at them oddly. It was seven in the morning on a Sunday. My siblings were known for sleeping in until noon on weekends, so I was surprised to see them all up at this hou AHHH! im sorry it was cut off. you can read the rest here: http://lumeniscent.weebly.com/story-2-huntress.html
