Bid price (material & labor) for a wooden fence and chain link fence?

Area: Pa

Job: 77 ft long , 48 ft high , plus one gate. Removal of 5 metal posts (poor condition) from prior chain fence.

Wood fence Materials: Wood Fencing 6' x 8' Spruce Stockade , 4*4 pressure treated posts

Chain link materials: All

Looking for a bid price on material and labor (total) for a wooden fence and also a chain link fence.

How many hours would you estimate it would take to finish this ?

Thank you

$3,500 for the wooden fence. $2,500 for the chain link. The wooden fence MIGHT be able to be done in one day because the posts do not have to be set in concrete. They only have to be set below the frost line (presuming you're in an area of the country where the ground freezes). However, if they hit rock or very hard clay, it might take them a long time to dig the post holes. The chain link fence (if done right) is definitely a two-day job. This is because the metal fence posts must be set in concrete footings. This needs to be done because chain link fences are stretched. Just driving the posts into the earth would not provide enough stability when the guys stretch the fence. Therefore, they need to be set in concrete. They'll put the posts in one day, allow the concrete to set, and come back another day to attach the chain links.
