4 Drawer Lateral File Cabinet

Whether you are just starting to set up your home office or simply need a larger file cabinet than the one you have been using in your office, a 4 drawer lateral file cabinet may be right for you. These come with different length drawers and in a variety of materials that makes them easy to suit both your needs and your office decor.

How to Choose the Right Filing Cabinet for Your Home Business

A 4 drawer lateral file cabinet can be a big investment for your business. So choosing the right one to meet all your needs is important. You are going to want one that not only meets your filing needs today but will also meet the needs of your growing business a year from now. So there are a few things you are going to need to take into consideration.

Length of drawers

You can get a 4 drawer lateral file cabinet in 30" 36" and 42" length drawers. When deciding what length drawers you want it is best to get one a little bigger than your immediate needs. For example if 30" drawers will adequately take care of today's filing needs, then consider getting a cabinet with 36 inch drawers. This will allow the cabinet to hold more files as your business grows and you have an increased need for filing space.

Construction Material

Most filing cabinets are made up of three basic types of materials, metal, wood, and pressed wood. Before choosing the 4 door lateral file cabinet for your office you need to consider how often the cabinet will be used and how strong it needs to be. Metal and real wood filing cabinets will both hold up to heavy duty use and perform beautifully on a day to day basis. While wood will fit in with almost any decor, metal filing cabinet manufactures are now making very attractive filing cabinets in a wide range of colors that also go with most office decors.

While pressed wood cabinets can and do often look as attractive as real wood filing cabinets, they are less able to stand up to the heavy usage that most will get. Unless you are planning on purchasing another in a year or so, pressed wood cabinets might not be a good choice.

Cost

Cost is also a major consideration when choosing a 4 drawer lateral file cabinet. On the whole metal cabinets are somewhat cheaper than wood cabinets and pressed board is cheaper than metal. While it is only natural to want the most attractive file cabinet available, you may have to weigh the cost of such an investment.

It is never wise to choose the cheapest model available, paying a bit extra for a good quality file cabinet in whichever material you choose will be worth it in the long run. Choosing a good 4 drawer lateral file cabinet may cost you a little more now but will save you money in the long run.

Finding the right 4 drawer lateral cabinet for your business is a simple matter of taking your time and choosing one that best meets your needs.

How can I ship/move a workshop of heavy tools from BC, Canada, to Nova Scotia? What's easiest/cheapest?
We need to move a boat-building workshop full of tools, wood, file cabinets from the town of Sidney on the southern end of Vancouver Island, BC., Canada, to Shelburne, Nova Scotia, Canada. It would all fit inside a 20-foot shipping container or a 20-foot truck.... What is cheapest method: freight company? hiring a U-Haul? buying a container and shipping that? How do you find/choose a freight company? Has anyone shipped heavy tools -- did you build your own wooden boxes, or buy containters pre-made?

Where can I buy a high-quality solid wood Mission or Craftsman filing cabinet online?
I asked this several days ago and got few answers, so I'm trying again. I'm looking for a solid wood filing cabinet with 4-9 drawers -- either a single horizontal unit or two four-drawer verticals. Preferably Craftsman, but I also like Mission. Everything I'm seeing online is veneer or laminate surfaces and they claim they don't know what the actual wood is underneath -- usually a red flag that it's cheap fiberboard. I finally have the money to invest in something nice and truly well-made, but the few things I've seen that are indeed high quality [materials & construction] are also over $2,000 -- which strikes me as rather ridiculous. I'd appreciate any website links, or the names of actual stores here in the San Diego area, or any other viable suggestions. Thanks.

Brown Spider Identification?
I live in Houston, TX. Recently, I have found A LOT of dead brown spiders and their egg sacs in my home. There are two different spiders. I have no idea what they are, I need help identifying them so I can decide on the best pest control plan! Spider #1 A little smaller than a dime Solid brown with a distinctive cephalothorax and abdomen (I cannot see any distinguishing marks) Two black/dark brown chelicera's or palps (?). They look like boxing gloves Legs are slightly darker in color Spider #2 Quarter dollar size Solid brown with a distinctive cephalothorax and abdomen One dark brown vertical stripe on it's abdomen (from top to bottom). There have only been two of these; one under my kitchen trash can and the other crawling across my living room, both seen at night. Although, I have seen others outside trying to crawl in my open patio door (kitchen light attracting them?) They run very fast when seen. Egg Sacs Off white There are usually quite a few of them, but they're in separate mounds, not clustered. ONLY found on wood; oak cabinets, oak china hutch, wood filing cabinet, oak dresser. I have not seen any spiders (that I can see with the naked eye) that have a "violin" pattern, just a stripe. They're not hairy, like a wolf spider. And I didn't think hobo spiders were this far south? Can anyone help me?
