Carbon Film Electric Underfloor Heating for Wood & Laminate Flooring

For the majority of installations, underfloor heating can act as the primary heat source - subject to heat loss factors - allowing the homeowner to dispense with unsightly, conventional radiators.

The carbon film is ultra-thin - at less than 0.5mm in thickness - and will not add any appreciable height to the overall profile of the floor; making this type of underfloor heating suitable for both new and refurbish projects where wood or laminate flooring is being laid.

Carbon film heating is not a new concept; having been widely used for many years, installed as both ceiling heating and under floor heating. To date, the heating film has only been offered as a bespoke product, with individual installations sized to film widths and lengths, cut and electrically connected at the factory, with each heating element numbered and boxed; the total heating installation is then returned to the customer as a complete kit. This whole process has meant that up to now, customer orders have taken up to 2 weeks to turn around; a very outdated method of supplying today's market, where consumer expectations are for a more immediate, next day delivery.

What is new about carbon film heating elements is the idea that carbon-heating film can be modularised. The new carbon film heating elements have been designed for the DIY market as well as trade: installations can be achieved very quickly due to the new 1000mm widths. Elements are pre-cut - supplied in fixed lengths from 2 - 10 metres - with widths of 1000mm and 300mm; all heating elements are electrically, factory pre-connected with 3 metre cold tails. The new heating film 1000mm widths make installations easy to select and fast to lay; and with less electrical connections, simpler to wire-up. Installations are completely dry and are a simple unrolling process.

With the new modularised heating film elements it is now possible to supply the consumer with a wide choice of readily available stock, allowing purchases to be made online and delivered the next day.

What Should We Do With Our Older Dog?
We have a 12 year old Great Pyrenese and a 4 year old Pembroke Corgi. The Great Pyr. is a little slower than she used to be and goes upstairs to bed 2 hours before us(she used to wait and go to bed with us). She goes through the trash and tries to find food or eat dirty diapers, but she stopped eating all of her dog food. She always ate her food before and only dug through the trash if we through something really good out. She also refuses to pee outside anymore. She will poop outside, but she only pees inside on our white carpet. We had one floor replaced with wood laminate, but she now just moved her peeing to the family room and the loft at the top of our stairs. When you walk into our house it smells (and it makes me want to cry). We love her, but despite our best efforts(we have a spot bot and clean frequently), the peeing on the carpet is driving us crazy. Our son brings friends over and we are expecting our third child. If she won't pee outside I don't know what to do. She has always been great with our family and kids, but she hates grown up strangers. When strangers come she thinks she is protecting us and bites, but has not bitten anyone in over 5 years. She also has anxiety issues and is terrified of thunderstorms. When a storm comes she tries to dig through our carpet and hide and she will rip through things and knock anything not nailed to the ground over. This is because before I met my husband I lived on a sheep farm and she would want to stay with the sheep, but if a storm came she would dig to take cover. We do have medicine to give her to ease her anxiety, which is very expensive. We love her and have dealt with most of her issues, but the peeing on the floor while we have a 17 month old and another on the way is getting to be the last straw. We do have gaits around the house. She is only allowed in the kitchen when we are at work. The trash is there and she never goes through it in the day time. She only does this if we go out at night. Almost like punishing us for leaving her at night(which we rarely do, but have had to recently as my grandfather is dying). Our baby monitor has been picking up static so, my husband insists we leave our bedroom and our daughter's bedroom door open so, we can hear her at night. Our dog sleeps with us and has a bed, but she sneaks out now that the door is open and pees in the loft. I have asked my husband about shutting the door, but that causes stress between us. Addition #2. Thank you everyone. We will be trying your suggestions and keeping our bedroom door closed at night. We LOVE our dogs and are not giving her up. She has been my baby since she was 8 weeks old. We just needed to vent and needed a dose of reality during our frustration.

To what extend am I liable?
I bought a second floor condo unit in Feb and did some remodeling and rent to a tenant in April 2nd. Couple of days later I got a call from him saying, the tenants down stairs came back from vacation and found that their kitchen sink was overflowing. They called the HOA who send a plumber. They plumber reported that the clogging is due to sand deposits in the pipeline caused by the remodeling in the unit above. I visited the unit below the next day and the unit owner showed me their wood laminate in a small area popping out because of water damage. There is not other damage that I could find. By that time they have already dried the kitchen cabinets (the water was overflowing the counter top.) I told him that I shall repair the floor if I it need to be repaired. I got an email from the property manager for HOA with an invoice from the plumber. He also said I am responsible for all the damages to the unit below. I visited the unit again and this time the unit owner came up with new discoveries. He showed me a crack where the laminate counter top meets the backsplash. This crack can no way be caused by water damage. This is the kind of damage you see in very old counter tops. If its water damage, the laminate would be coming off the particle board where its fixed. I showed the damages to a guy who was working in my unit and he told me that the crack in the countertop is not caused by water damage. Now, I am wondering if this guy is going to use this opportunity to take advantage of me. It seems like he is looking for a brand new kitchen counter top.

DIY ideas for my useless desk?
I'm planing on redecorating my room this summer. My grandfather and I are going to be building a triangular side table, a set of rope shelves and a short bookcase. I've had this desk since I was a child and all it does is take up space and collect junk and dust. The style is very modern, which does not match my idea. I would salvage the wood but it is covered by fake wood laminate. It has these large steel legs that are curved. I also wrote on the desk with sharpie as a kid. It has two upper shelves. If you can think of any use for the desk in another project or for my aforementioned projects that would be fantastic!
