Wood Rack
Firewood Rack Vs. Log Holder
Firewood Racks
You've probably heard of a log holder and you've probably heard of a firewood rack. But do you know what the difference is? Well, a Firewood rack is typically an outdoor wood rack used to store extra wood for your fireplace. Firewood racks vary in size, style, and make. Often they're handmade and simply used to keep logs organized in the garage, shed, or yard. Some are ornate and made from wrought iron, and are intended to be functional and decorative.
Log Holders
Log holders, on the other hand, are typically indoor racks. They are more decorative but also very durable. A log rack is often intended for indoor use and can only hold a limited amount of wood.
However, when it comes to firewood racks and holders, the terms are often used interchangeably. A firewood rack can technically be called a firewood holder as well. The term firewood rack is typically associated with a more rugged, functional style of rack rather than a decorative holder. But you'll still find decorative log holders that are called firewood racks. So if you're looking for a firewood rack, be sure to check under log holders as well.
How to Make Your Own Firewood Rack
If you'd rather make your own firewood rack, here's some advice on how to make one out of wood (to make one out of metal would require welding, which can be quite tricky)
Materials
To make a firewood rack, you need:
* Durable wood
* Nails
* Saw
* Hammer
Constructing Your Firewood Rack
Follow these steps to construct your very own firewood rack:
Step 1: Figure out how large you need your rack to be
Step 2: Establish how many sections you want your firewood rack to have (1 main section vs. 2 separate section to pile wood separately)
Step 3: Establish measurements (height and length)
Step 4: Cut wood accordingly (it's wise to use durable wood, not plywood or pressboard. You need to use materials that can withstand the weight of solid wood logs. Also, when cutting your wood, also cut crossbeam pieces. This will help keep your rack sturdy)
Step 5: Nail the wood pieces together
Step 6: Add metal L braces to increase durability (specific L braces necessary will depend on the design and thickness of your individual pieces.
Step 7: Test the strength of your firewood rack (grab a corner and see if it has too much give. Remember, your rack needs to be as strong as possible).
Step 8: Finish your rack with a layer of lacquer or other varnish (this will help the wood of your rack last longer)
Step 9: Establish a place to put your firewood rack (i.e. garage, shed, barn, outdoors)
Step 10: Put your firewood in the rack
As you can see, building your own firewood rack does take some time and know-how. If you're pretty good with wood working, putting together your own fireplace rack should be an enjoyable project.
If you don't currently have a fireplace mantel and surround, please check your local building codes or fire safety department for the minimum distance from the fireplace opening to the mantel and surround.

Name this Ford Truck? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
Here's the story. This truck did a hit and run on my car, but we caught it on camera. Before we file the police report - I need to know the exact details.
The truck is a Ford, I can see that, but which model?
F150, F250, F350, Quad Cab, Heavy Duty, year? I need all the exact details.
Here are some things I can point out that may help.
-It's Maroon, the bottom edge is lined with silver.
-4x4 is written in i believe solid white in somewhat big letters.
-The headlights are squared, the blinkers are below them.
-The grill is all silver and it is curved up on the top a little above the headlights.
-It has those small orange lights on the top of the windshield, which the top is heavily lined with silver, showing it is a work truck.
-It has 2 doors, back windows are thin and as tall as the standard windows.
-I believe the bottoms of the 2 doors have the little silver step lining things.
-The side mirrors are not silver, they are either maroon or black or dark grey.
-It's definitely a work truck for something like land work maybe or metal scrapping? idk you tell me. -it has what are they called wood racks?
Every detail possible would be great, and I greatly appreciate anyone that could help me.

I definitely need to know the year? What do cabs mean?
Also what is it called when they take the truck and add the lights on the top and the silver on the top to make it a work truck?

ok, i have a big problem. last year my parents got devorced, well the devorce is still in progress but anyway, and now my mother has a boy friend. he is suchh a freak. when ever i tell my mother i hate him, she just gets angry at me. i go to boarding school so i only get to see my mother and my grandparents on the weekends, and the boy friend knows this, and he always has her go to his house on the weekends. i now never get to see my mother so i talk to my friends and my grandparents about the situation, i am very desprit, and my grandparents always side with my mother. take this for example. today my mom woke me up at 6 in the morning to fill up the wood racks. my mother and i are going to the city today at 12 and i had all the six hours to fill the racks up. so i told her that and she then started yelling at me that if i dont fill them up, she was going to ditch the city and go to russ's (her boy friend) and spend the day with him. so, as you can see im in a bit of a situation. thanks for any help you can give

How do you remove excess spray paint? (Answers: 4) (Comments: 0)
So i decided to spraypaint this ugly wood rack i got from Costco. Most of it looks pretty good, but it was my first time using spray paint so it kinda got gloopy in some places cause i was too close...I tried removing some of it with a wet paper towel while it was still wet (yes i know i'm an idiot), and i just managed to screw it up, so while everywhere else is a smooth gloss, there's a little patch of "dabbed" paint. HOW DO I FIX THIS??? So that the whole thing has a nice smooth uniform finish?

Help, creepy dream from a while ago? (Answers: 5) (Comments: 0)
Okay, I had this dream last year, and never asked it until now. I want to know what it means. Here go's.
I was dreaming I was walking along a creepy path with my friend and the sky was dark gray, lot's of clouds and about to rain. There was a fences along the path. We see this erie house that is the color light gray, black roof, and there was a wood rack in front with some wood in it, not a lot. The windows were just tinted, nothing to see. It was a two story. We walk inside the house which looks very old. My friend says he has to go do something which I can't remember. Suddenly I hear two male voices approaching. This guy runs through the door, with all green clothes on and the clothes look like a janitor's uniform. A very large Bowie knife appears in my hand and I start running at him, he was unarmed. I punch him, stab him through the face, then take it out, kick him in the stomach with my knee and he falls down. This other guy breaks a window to get in, I run to him, stab him through the throat, he then falls down. I then remember hordes of guys coming into the house. I don't ever remember seeing my friend in the rest of the dream again. Then it ended. What did this mean?
@ Carlo J, I'm not a criminal and I haven't ever done a bad thing, but I am not a man of God, or anything.
@ Zane R, I wasn't angry that night or any past nights.
